installed spectre air filter now idles for a few seconds then dies

I just installed a spectre air filter on my 2.5 ranger unplugged mass air flow sensor took mafs off with top of air cleaner now it will idle for like 5 seconds to 10 seconds then will just die go right back and start it up again no problem I can actually feel the diferecne in power when I'm driving and then I stop and it dies pretty much no matter what I cleaned the throttle body up it was dirty didn't really help any so I'm stuck any help would be greatly appreciated

You completely removed the MAF sensor and you wonder why it dies.....

I had to to put my cone air filter on it and sometimes if u unplug it they run better

How do I put a spectre air filter and the mafs and top of air filter box ????

ummm if they also have a MAP sensor which I don't think rangers have. Put your stock filter box back on until you can make a new intake pipe that will work with the MAF sensor

Buy one of the universal cold air intake kits and make one . Should have everything you need

Why can't I use a aftermarket filter thats the stupidest thing I ever heard can u not even install a cold air intake gosh dang this is dumb can I just plug up mafs and let it b

no you can't. You need the MAF In the air intake so the computer knows how much air is coming in and the temp of said air

And rangers come from the factory with a cold air intake. All those aftermarket kits do are waste your hard earned cash

How about researching before you start taking things apart and unplugging sensors. It wouldn't be on the truck if it wasn't needed or required by law.
