98 2.5L just had head replaced, it sat for about 5 months.
when cranking I can hear fuel pump kick on then off as normal, it will turn over and over, after 3-4 times of trying it will spit and sputter for a few seconds and then run fine.
I had just a little gas in tank, put 5 gallons fresh in it when at shop, then put 100% gas (no ethanol) in..full tank with seafoam and marvel mystery oil. I have 80 miles on it with fresh gas and still hard to crank. I can try to crank in less than 30 minutes and it fires right up..what gives?? help

sounds like the check valve in the pump is weak allowing the pressure to bleed off..does the problem go away if you cycle the key a few times before starting?

it is easier to crank when cycling the key back and forth a few times, minimal sputtering then.
