Default Coolant leak from heater hoses on 2.3 gas.

I have a 1987 Ranger with two wheel drive. It has a 2.3 liter gas fi engine. It has a automatic transmission. There is a leak at the tee fitting next to the valve cover. What's the small hose that runs to the back of the engine do? Where does it run to?

That small hose is for the vacuum actuated valve that allows heated water to reach the heater core. I just replaced this valve on my 1996 Ranger last weekend.

The small hose runs to the throttle body for anti icing purposes. In certain weather conditions, ice can build up in the intake and affect performance and mileage if any ice were to build up.

there is a vacuum line for the heater control valveon models woith AC, but you might be talking about the small hose that feeds coolant to the TB or intake.....replace it f it is leaking......
