You would have to find a Ranger D-tech, and swap out ALL the external pieces, right down to the block. Rangers have different timing chain covers, no balance shafts, different accessory drive configurations, different motor mounts, intake and exhaust manifolds, everything. My wife's mazda3 with the d-tech 2.3, looks like a completely different motor externally. On the inside they're the same, but you would need so much off the Ranger d-tech to do the swap, you might as well just find a Ranger to take the motor out of. Besides, you'd have to run the Ranger computer on that to make it work too. And as far as the tranny goes, you'd have to get a tranny out of a '01+ 2.3 Ranger to work, your current trans wouldn't bolt up.
So in closing, just swap a d-tech out of a Ranger.
