my 2000 2.5 is broken. it wont rap over 3000 in nuetral or any gear and has no power. it sounds like i have the air filter uncovered all the time and like its not getting fuel and sucking too much air. i was thinkin the fuel pressure reguletor or fuel pump. i checked the pressure its only seven.. any ideas would be appreciated. its not the catalytic convertor its new same with egr, mas, and o2s.

the pump is good i checked it today.. scanned it its not throwing any codes... maybe a knock sensor??

I think you are confusing John and myself.......is your fuel pressure 7psi....if it is not 7 tells us exactly what it is. it should be about 65 koeo,koer and it should build up to that in 1 or 2 cycles........it also should not drop more than about 8 in 5 minutes with the truck off.......

make sure you have a good fuel filter.......
