Default 2.3 Rough idle and high idle?

So I was wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint the problem with my 2.3. At startup it will idle fine for about 5-10 seconds, then will run rough (sounds like it has an aggressive cam, but theres no predictable pattern to it). Occasionally it will rev up high for about 30 seconds then go back to the rough idle. Ive done plugs and wires on the primary side and replaced the IAC valve. After I did the plugs and wires it would start but would stall immediately. After I replaced the IACV it was running again. Also, when going down the road and I need to shift, it will rev up high. When im in gear it will accelerate on its own, not even touching the pedal. When I go to neutral to stop, it will rev up high, but it seems to be dependant on how much throttle was applied when it was in gear (more throttle, higher revs). CEL isn't on but the battery light is on, was on and off now its on all the time. Any ideas?

Maybe, havent checked yet but sometimes theres a whining noise coming from the engine bay when on the throttle hard. Have an exhaust leak somewhere. Easy way to test for vac leaks?

I cleaned the old iac, it helped a little so I replaced it and it ran better for about a day. Just took it in to check for vac leaks, i'll see what turns up
