Default 99 2.5L MPG Tips?

Just wondering what kind of mileage you guys are pulling out of your trucks and what you've done to improve it. Ive got a 99 2.5L 5 Speed, not sure of the rear end but its the absolute base model if that helps. I run mobile 1 full synthetic, bosch premium oil filter, new paper fram filter, airbox mod, tires at 35psi, and I absolutely baby it. im in 4th gear around 30-33mph if im on a flat. during winter with 100lbs and this brutal cold in central new York, I was getting 17-19 mixed driving but it was on average about 10 degrees out. with this warm weather im at 290 miles and just over 1/8 tank left. my last fill up I had about 22.5mpg, 60% highway 40% town. im assuming I should be closer to 24-25 on this fill up with about the same mix of driving. im going to get a new catalytic converter(mines rusted and leaking a bit), and do a 2.5" pipe to a flowmaster 44 and dump it in front of the rear wheel.

I usually get between 22-25 mpg with mine but most of my driving is highway. There is a code on the door tag that tells you what gears are in the rear end.

Old threads never die.

I was getting 17-18 when I bought it. Did some minor service things and tires and now it gets 21. These are all around miles at about 60/40 highway to street driving.
