Default A/c help please!

I have a 1996 2wd ranger that was made from factory with out any ac components at all, I bought the truck from Ohio so that wouldn't bother them there but I live in texas so a/c is a must for me. Is it possible to just instal a whole new a/c system or what would I need to do?

You need to see if the wire harness is there but the rest should be fairly easy. Install the pump and get the right belt to run it, install the condenser in front of the radiator, install the dryer, and get an air box that has the evaporator core in it and swap it with yours. You would also have to change out the HVAC selector switch plate in the dash to include the AC. I believe the switch itself is the same, the difference is the backer plate. It has a stop in it to keep the switch from turning to the unused positions. I think the only plugs under the hood you need are the one for the pressure switch which usually attaches to the dryer, and the clutch switch that goes to the pump.
