Can you get a side shot? Or is the frame/fender well in the way?

Is it directly on the top of the pipe or angled?

How far Back is that from the flange?

Besides those two questions pics look good.

Really if could just get a good measurement of how far down from the flange it's mounted, that would probably be all I need.

Nevermind on that location. I pretty much only have one spot I see to put it.

I don't think I can go far down as your sensor since the pre-cat is there (Ford added a second cat for 98-up), but there is a good 5 inches between the flange and the pre cat to place it. I cant mount it straight up and down due to the edge of the firewall being so close. So I'm just going to mount it in that spot and angle the top out more toward the passenger side.

The factory o2 sensor is about 11.5 inches long and the wiring looks like it won't allow it so I'm gonna get another sensor that is about 16 inches long. I have to anyway. 200K on the original sensor and I had to cut it off to get it out of the other manifold.

Well I got a lot done today:

Drilled the hole for the O2 Bung

Welded her up:

Painted the header, bolts, cat pipe, and egr tube:

And bolted her all in, still have to modify the back two bolts for the egr sensor bracket:

When we had to run a stock manifold on the race truck,we ran the 94 tube manifold on our 98.It already had the O2 in about the same location as the cast 98 manifold and we just block off the EGR bung.We just cut off the tubes that bolted to the motor and got allen head bolts and installed. We also use to cut the "bell"off the end of the tube header and had a 3 inch pipe made up that bolted right to the flange on the tube header. It looked stock and got away with that quite awhile before the tech guys caught it.

'm glad I got the one without the O2 bung. I do not like they where ford put it for those years. It really only reads two cylinders the other two just blow right over it.

Any issues after cutting those tubes off?

No,never had a problem with the allen head bolts getting stuck and we use to have to wrap our tube header because it got so hot at the end of each straightaways, the header would be glowing cherry red.after awhile when we had the scanner on it and was running it,we could see where the O2 issue was and kept moving it around in the pipe till we find a sweet spot, about where the factory put it in the down pipe.By that time they was letting us run headers so we put in a Schoenfeld and put the O2 sensor in about the same place

Just got done putting everything together and firing her up. She fired up great. No noticeable exhaust leaks, so my catalytic converter welds are doing good. Also, not cat rattle.

Curing the paint right now. 10 mins on, 20 mins cool, 20 mins on, 20 mins cool.

Still have to do the 30 minute drive time to finalize the curing process.

Ran my code scanner on the second idle time. No set or pending codes so the new O2 is reading correctly in its new location.

Gonna give you guys an update if there is any butt dyno readings.

Don't think it added much to the butt dyno reading. Then again I have been driving my mustang for the past two weeks instead of the truck.

At least it shed a few pounds getting rid of that cast manifold.
