Default 2.0 ranger build

ive got this freind who got an 83 2.0 ranger on trade it ran bad burned oil so pulled the motor took it apart first one hes ever done pistons were bad rings bad valve seals bad now hes got the idea he wants to put aluminum flat top pistons in it mill down the head and a street strip cam what do you think of this its gonna be a daily driver hes dead st on this so are there any suggestions i can give him to help him out its a carbed 2.0

Port and polish the head while its apart.

It should already have alum flat top pistons, and might have valve reliefs, milling the head more than just truing it up might cause piston to valve problems.
