Default battery drains out when the truck sits

I was gone for a while and over a week or two the battery drained out and the truck was dead.

What would cause that? Best I can tell nothing was left on. No lights or accessories to drain it.

Alternator?

You'll need to perform a little troubleshooting to find the circuit that's causing the issue (parasitic drain).

Click for a simple & generic 'How-To': Parasitic Battery Drain Identification

Basically, you will pull each fuse (one at a time) and monitor a multimeter that's connected in-line. When the ampacity drops, you have found the offending circuit. Then you're able to focus on that single specific circuit.

This happened to my brother's 06 outback. The factory stereo was the culprit. Once it was replaced, the problem was solved.

Happened to my truck a while back. The alternator was pulling power from the battery. Was working on It and something touched and sparked and it has been fine since.

Looks like it was the wiper motor. It would go real slow when you first started up the truck but worked fine after a few swipes. The cold seemed to make it worse recently so that got replaced today and the charging issue seems to have gone away.

The radiator fan blades aren't holding a charge since they aren't there.
