Default Loud Fan

The fan in my truck stays on for way too long, it overpowers the engine and exhaust (cherry bomb dumped mind you), and makes me loose a ton of power. I changed the fan clutch already and the thermostat. I even lifted the hood up in the back in order to cool the engine down more. What can I do to shut the thing off?

You still have the stock mechanical fan? Sounds like an electric fan setup would be your best bet..

Is the truck overheating? If so the noise is the least of your issues. If not you may need a new fan clutch.

Has it always been this loud? Or recently has it just been really loud? I know on 3.0's & 4.0's the fans are pretty damn loud when the hood is open. Also as others have mention, how is the temp doing? Does it heat up more then normal but still safe? If the fan is always running full [which arn't they always when not electric??] it could mean your water pump isn't pumping enough or your rad would be clogged causing it to not exchange enough heat causing the fan to fun 100%.
