Default 2002 4.0L need help with engine hesitation.

Hello everyone, great site...

I need some help figuring out what is wrong with my truck. I have a 2002 4.0L 4x4 auto tranny. I have a few engine codes that have been on for a while and now the truck is starting to hesitate and stutter. At first it was happening around 45-65 MPH...now its getting worse.

The codes are:
Lean bank 1
Lean bank 2
Low flow EGR valve.

Would a clogging fuel filter cause poor acceleration, but still be able to maintain 75+ MPH on the highway? Wondering because of the Lean codes...or could that be an O2 sensor, even though I am not getting an O2 fault.

Any help? I can really use it...this is my wife and I's only mode of transportation at the moment.

Thanks!
Jason

Ok, here is where I am at now....

Reset codes now have: Codes for both Low and High EGR flow...

I had low earlier now I have high as well....sticking EGR? I found a possible vac leak and replaced the line. Could a vac leak cause high and low EGR faults?

I will replace the fuel filter anyway, 92,000 on the truck.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Jason

Hi, I had pretty much the same codes on my 02 4x4, lean on both banks and a dead O2 sensor, I replaced the O2 sensor and the cleared the codes then after 1/2 mile the light came right back on, ran a scan and again same two codes. So I talked to a Ford Tech and he told me to look for a vacuum leak around the following things; intake manifold, throttle body, EGR, and all vacuum lines and if that was not it then to replace the mass airflow sensor.
