Superchips 1714 max micro tuner

Im highly thinking about getting Superchips 1714 max microtuner. Does anyone know what kind of hp gains i can get out of this tuner?

Never heard of that for a ranger...u want the superchips flashpaq 1865 I think or an SCT brand tuner...

Go with the SCT...kinda disappointed with the superchips one on my ranger

If u have a manual tranny definately go with the SCT.

I have an auto. trans. but i have seen alot of good reviews on it. Mainly i found 1 used for a really good price off ebay so just checking to see other opinions on it. Meaning i should buy it and go from there?? I just dont want to get the thing and it dont have the right tunes and then i would have to purchace a tune for my truck and it cost 200 or more lol.

Yea lol. Ture that. Well im not sure if im understanding this right, so normally you can buy the tuner itself then plug it up and walah...Or you have to buy the tuner then tunes to put on it?? Kinda confused lol...

Yes.

The SCT XCalibrator 3 is a true custom tuner...it doesn't use a 'canned' or 'generic' Ford Ranger type tune.

As far as getting a custom tune written for it - I would recommend one of these guys:

Don @ LaSota Racing (http://www.lasotaracing.com/MOX3.html)

I have used them both over the years...and they are both good guys. I just used Don the other month for some new tunes (4.88's & 35's) and he has awesome customer service! I'm talking same day, everyday responses.

They will ask you exactly what modifications you have done to your vehicle, and send you a tune (or multiple tunes) based on your desires.

Don also offers 90 free days of emailed tunes from the date of purchase. Basically you can submit working LiveLink datalogs - and he dials in your tune in even further based on the real world data from your specific truck.
