well after driving on a gravel road, parking, then turn the truck off, then turn back on, i put it in drive, and all it does is start to slip. and it slips from first to third and it doesn't hit O/D and i barely made it home. half way back, the O/D OFF light started blinking. plus i have no reverse. it feels like my torque converter is shot. any suggestions on what it is?

Yeah that happened to me a little bit ago, torque converter was shot and same with the gear bands, $900 later working brand new! Hope this helps

Not normally, he cut me a discount, but I would ask around at the tranny shops and then maybe look around ford dealers and find transmission techs there that might do work on the side, that will save you big money right there, I would just rebuild what you have because a used tranny would be around 550 shipped and it might be bad then you are down 550 into two bad trannys just a thought

If you're looking into a full transmission rebuild, it will be anywhere from $1400-$2000.
Mine was $1800, I lost my reverse, the reverse band snapped, I put on another 4k miles on it in 6 months, during the spring -summer, so i rode my motorcycle as much as i could..then got it fixed at the end of November before snow!!

When my engine had a spark plug detonate and damage it, I was still making payments on the truck, got another loan to put in a rebuilt remanufactured engine. Then as soon as I got both paid off, I lost reverse in the transmission. Everyone was like get rid of the truck, buy a new used one...and im like what start over?? My truck already had a new motor with less than 50k on it, might as well put another $1800 for rebuilding the transmission so now the 2 biggest expensive parts are good and new....
If I would have bought another used truck, I could have ended up with a bad engine or transmission quickly down the road.
