i have a 1998 4.0 with check engine light on went and got it checked and the computer said it could be number of things i was looking at my truck while it was running and found an exhaust leak right after the muffler were it and the pipes connect,could that be the reason i'm getting this code

i doubt the exhaust leak just before the muffler is causing that code. when you scaned the computer did it have more than one code? if so always fix the first one then clear it and see if the light comes on again. i think that po174 is a lean code bank 2. usually its a bad o2 sensor

It's actually right after the muffler and yea it read lean on bank 2 so I'll get that looked at thanks
