Default how many turns to set up trans modulator

hey all need to know the proper adjustments (turns in and out) for a a4ld adjustable transmission modulator. replaced it 1 month ago and forgot to set it up and sucked 2 quarts of tranny fluid into motor. talk about WHITE SMOKE.... LOL drove it about 500 miles (800KMS) before i figured the problem...

Did it the red neck way and just ripped open the carpets and cut the floor with hacksaw to get at the modulator. truck so old no one will care anyway. (but not a stock motor) redid a couple years back with a comp cam head work and you know the rest....

cheers

Default Re: how many turns to set up trans modulator

WOW done a bit more exploring to figure out that the modulator I put in before is SHOT. I can suck air thru it no prob, so It was adjusted properly. i have a second new one that i bought for my explorer. will place it into the ranger and see if that helps. (new one can't suck air thru, old one is like a sieve.)

Could I have a major transmission problem that will destroy the modulator? Has anyone ran into this before? or did I buy a shitty modulator the first time out?

cheers
