Default spark plugs

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site so I'm not sure if this question has been asked. Why is the price per plug for my 05 Edge $11.75 each? I can put plugs in our Mustang-Marauder-Lightning for less than the cost of ( 6 ) 4.0 sparkplugs. Any help would be appreciated

I was quoted this price for Motorcraft plugs from a Ford Dealer. I figured there must be something special about them since the owners manual doesn't even carry the part #, it says to contact dealership. I believe they are AGSF25PM.

I don't know about that. I went directly to the Motorcraft site and all their plugs, (with the exception ) of the plugs for the 04-05 4.0 were at the highest $4.00 per plug. The plugs for the 04-05 4.0 were $10.95 each. Also, the part # they state is not what is in our truck. The plug I took out in order to get the part # was AGSF-25-PM. The part # they posted was AGSF-34F-PF6. I don't know if our truck had the wrong plugs put in when it was built, but, regardless, the plugs for the truck are listed at $10.95 each. When I punched in the AGSF-25-PM part # it came back as an invalid part#.

Is it best to use the platinums? I'm looking at changing my plugs in my 07' 4.0 but I'm not sure what's in it now. Looking on advance and autozone's websites, the AP5144 are 2.99 and 2.79. Autozone says they don't fit my vehicle. If I do a search on Agsf34fp on autozone, it gives me a cross reference of XP-5144 and these show as 6.49. Looking up my 07, it looks like the AP5143 is the platinum plug for the 07. Not sure what the difference is. The AP5143 are 2.99 a piece
