Question FUEL PUMP??? MAYBE? HELP...lol

Hey guys, looking for anyone's opinion here please...

Yesterday, She started and was running as great as she always does , pulled out of the drive and started on my way, about 50 yards down the road She just died, heavy tronic burning smell inside cab(and inside cab only) Got her back to the house and she is turning over just fine just wont even try to start, has spark at the plugs, no burnt tronic smell under hood at all.

First thing I noticed when I tried to start it back at the house was I could not here the fuel pump "HUM" when I ingaged the ignition.

I suppose the electric fuel pump inside the fuel tank could have taken a dump, but why would the burning tronics smell only be inside the cab of the truck?

Would love to here ANYONE'S thoughts, guesses, opinions on how to begin troubleshooting this issue

Thanks a lot in advance, great to be here.....

Sounds like it could be the inertia switch (emergency fuel shut off). It is located under the dash on my 2006 ranger.
