Angry top speed (governor) removal ?

i have a 1995 ranger splash side with a 4.0 5-speed manual and 4x4... i know that both jet and hypertech make a chip for my truck but what i really want to know is will they disable the speed governor. for the most part i just want something that can remove my max speed limiter (governor) weather it be a chip, tuner or programmer.
thanks for reading

after i did 108 in mine (stupid i know) i drove under 60 for about a week lol, although being slightly lowered makes it less unnerving. in my 5.0 expo when i get on it i get uneasy.

The speed limiter is in the vicinity of 91mph. It stop acceleration but cutting off fuel injectors which is why it feels like a thud when you hit it.

The tires, driveline, brakes, and suspension are not designed to exceed that speed. You shouldn't be doing it without extensive modification and upgrades. And even then, you better not be doing it anywhere but a track or some desert in Nevada. I agree everyone else, it starts to get a little scary and uneasy after 80.

I use a Superchips programmer it disables the speed limiter, my 3.0 will do about 130mph according to my GPS. Might do more, still had pedal left, but was kinda unstable. I scoot along between 80 and 100 quite often.

I am in need of removing the speed governor as I am a Firefighter/EMT First Responder in a rural area, and time matters, 90 mph will not cut it, as I am used to 120+ in my wife's jeep, also, I have been trained in high speed driving and maneuvering by the police academy, and through EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course). I understand that it is embedded in the eprom of the computer, and can be done with a programmer, but that is a large chunk of change, hard for a volunteer ff as I am to come up with. Any help will greatly appreciated.

somewhere past 100 in a rusty 85 ranger with a 302, falling apart, felt a little crazy and uncontrollable.

a programmer is your best bet... BUT. if you put 33's on it you can go 97 mph without messing with the governor.lol it messes with other ranger owners that want to race.
