No dope. If you're going 80mph, you do not need to be passing anyone. "I have to go 90+ to get passed people" is a self-defeating justification and you clearly have no clue what the word "need" means. A reckless driver like you does not deserve the technical advice to do what you're asking.

PS - Nobody cares how special you think you are behind the wheel and how much better you think you are. Proclaiming your superiority is not going to make people think better of your reckless operation.

Any help will greatly appreciated.

This is so stupid on so many levels! Your going to wind up killing someone driving like a maniac. How will you explain to the family (if any are left) when you plow into a car full of kids 'responding' to some call for a ff response? Just stupid, I can't wait till they pull your license for driving like this, especially while responding to any call.

^^ While you are correct, that post was from a year ago and he already recanted that desire.

Im sorry. I dont need a damn computer telling me when I am going to fast. I do not speed around and tear up the roads at 90+. Infact, Its a rarity that I drive over 65. But, when I have a need/want to get the fock on, I want to get. Like the auto 4wd shit. I dont need the computer telling me when to lock in and almost cause a wreck.

People have their reasons for wanting to remove the limiter, does not mean they are out racing up and down the street, putting peoples lifes in danger.

IM NOT A YUPPY!

Yes people have their reasons. Having as reason doesn't make it a good or legitimate reason. "I need to go 95mph to pass someone on the highway" is not a legitimate reason. "I'm a far more superior driver than all the rest of you" is not a legitimate reason. In all the threads I've seen on this matter in the last 12 years, nobody has ever once provided a legitimate reason.

I don't think the ford ranger is made for going anything over 120km it's a very narrow truck if you wana speed and go fast get a car and do it on the track!!!!!!! Why does everybody always think of them selves!!! Not only are you putting yourself in danger but your putting everybody else in danger too!!!! Are your tires rated to go 100mph probably not and does it make any sense that your trying to help people as a volunteer FF by racing in and out of traffic in a RANGER it's not a sports car it's not designed to go fast give your head a shake!!!

A legitimet reason is when you're caught on the hwy between passing cars and on ramp traffic. I cant even count how many times I am unable to change lanes, slow down or even speed up. Dick heads on the on ramp are suppose to merge, but dont. They just keep the hammer down. So yes, when I need to put the truck down to avoid a wreck, I need to be able to do that. That is a legitimet reason.

Your missing the point fireranger. That computer controlled limiter [I]may[I] cause a wreck or kill someone. From the lack of being able to get the hell out of the way. A lot of times, you will get up close to those limiter speeds when you stomp the pedal to accelerate. Shit, my limiter comes on at 82! Thats not alot of room to work with when you factor in highway speeds.

No it isn't. You can't slow down? Maybe you need your brakes serviced? Or more likely "I can't slow down" really means "I don't want to slow down."

Next fictional excuse?

stop being an ass. all im saying, is that situations arise when you cant "Slam" on your brakes to allow some idiot over. Especially if someone is riding your ass.

----------

besides, no one here is talking about driving 120 and racing down the hwy. All im saying, is that my truck that shuts off at 82, i would like to know that if I had to get past that speed that I could.

I'm nor being an ass, I'm being realistic. You and others are making up fictional excuses to justify reckless behavior on the road. And I'm the ass? Lol.

When you think of a legitimate reason that you can post in lieu of childish name calling, get back to us.

I dont think saying "ass" is childish name calling, maybe something like, cowfocker...

And your a saint. You post on this forum that you have never gone past 82mph in your ranger, go on.

----------

if "82" is so wreckless, how is it that in some places of this country there is not speed limit....? How about where the speed limit is 75, your going to say that a mere 7mph faster is going from "safe" to "wreckless"....ok

----------

BTW, im not justifying "wreckless behavoir" I mearly said, if I "need" to go faster than 82mph, I dont want a computer limiting that. This does not mean I am zipping around at 82 of more, then trying to make up an excuse as to why.

Personally I found my limiter when I was sixteen and first got my truck. It does 92 btw, I have never reached it again and I'm 19. I honestly drive the speed limit, I have to show off the rims and tires! And now the fresh paint job!

Never said that, don't put words in my mouth. However, since you bring that up... The times I have gone more than that were by accident and I was glad the speed limiter was there. My speed limiter used to be 95 like most of them. I lowered it to 85 with my programmer so it ends up cutting off around 82 like yours. I have never had nor will I ever need to go faster than that. Next excuse.

Because the traffic and road conditions are designed to accommodate that. Whining that it is ok in other places does not make it ok where you are now. Next excuse.

And I'm telling you there is not going to be a "need" for you to go that fast. What you are making up as needs are excuses, not needs. Speaking of excuses, lets hear your next one.

In 12 years, nobody has ever given me a real reason. And you certainly haven't even come close yet today.

your really just an internet troll, I have given those reasons. You said yourself that you have been past "82" (we'll use that as that is considered wreckless) So you have no room to talk. You say it wasnt on "purpose". Well, neither is going past when passing someone. Or neither is it when you are trying to avoid a traffic situation. All I am saying, is that if the NEED arises I dont want to be limited by the computer. How hard is that for you to understand. You keep thinking that myself and everyone else is trying to "justify" driving at those speeds. That is not what we are doing. The entire point is, IF THE NEED ARISES, I DONT WANT TO BE LIMITED!.

That is all, carry on. Troll.
