Ditto - 120+ in the Exporer Sport, 120+ in the Ranger, 120+ in the Focus ...all on the dyno.
Time and a place folks, time and a place. That being said, you should look in to a flash tuner and verify the speed rating on your properly maintained tires!

ive heard that if you put the 4-ways on while driving the computer will allow you to exceed the speed limiter. it probably doesnt work on every car. and i havent tried it on my truck yet.

I used my SCT Tuner to bring the speed limiter DOWN more. I set it for 85. I tried 80, but it would start cutting off fuel in the mid 70's.

I know this is an old thread but the limiter has put me in a spot a couple of times, and before anyone wants to criticise me, I have never received a speeding ticket or had a speed related 'incident', so keep your thoughts to yourself, thanks, but thanks to some idiots who think they should accelerate when you try to pass I have experienced the limiter!! So my question is; how can I get rid of it easily, cheaply and without having to have a chip that is going to force me to use premium fuel? And if it is a chip, how do I chip a 2003 4.0 SOHC? And, is it true that some can't even be chipped?
Sorry for the long text but the new mobile app is so cool and easy to use..
Cheers

So I guess I'd have to say to get rid of the speed control would be a totally stupid f**king thing to do. I would not want to be the one who explains to the cops that "I just wanted to go faster.....I didn't mean to kill anyone".
Point fuckin said.

Nice one! So when I'm doing 80 on I94 just trying to keep up with traffic, and the dick in his merc sits on my ass at 85, then the comedian I was trying to pass kicks his to 85 I should a) slow down and hope the jerks behind him leave a space or b) just sit there with the merc up my ass? Because, you brain dead moron that is exactly what happened to prompt me to ask the question in the first place. You're probably the dick that was on my right!
For the once or twice a year with my 60K miles a year that I drive that I would like Ford not to control my choice, I would like to have it available! Oh, and by the way, I have 3 kids and 35 years of driving without an accident, so don't preach to me, you juvenile *******.

Thanks for the help.
And I will never buy another vehicle that has a speed limiter less than a hundred mph, I spent half my adult life on Autobahns, where the vehicle class defines the speed limit so I often drove my motorcycles at 130+, speed is not the killer, bad or inexperienced drivers are.
