Tranny slipped a little this morning as we were leaving the beach...45 minutes later, it quit...I checked the fluid and it didn't even touch the dip-stick. Fortunately, we were across the street from a convenience store and I bought 4 qts and put some in and was able to resume driving to get home. There is some pink froth on the AC thingy next to the dip-stick....forgive my lack of proper terms there, I'm not a mechanic...I'm wondering if there could be a hole in the line that runs up from the tranny to the radiator. If that is the problem, how difficult/expensive is it to diagnose and replace?

Don't drive it! Frothy stuff coming out your dip stick usually means the tranny is in a bad way...I've seen this happen a few times to different vehicles over the years...none ended pretty. You should get someone who works on trannies to check it out for you.

Froth was from spray of tranny fluid on the accumulator...had a hole in a line. $5 part and $75 diagnose fee, but fixed!
