Default White Smoke from Exaust

New to the thread and I am hoping for a bit of help.

I am having issues with my 2000 Ford Ranger, 4.0 XLT Ranger.

My temp has been going up and down often, but when i release the pressure it resides back to normal.

I have done a compression test, which shows all cylindars are good. Between 115- 135 PSI.

Have engine light on that reads P0306, which is a cylinder miss fire, but that cylinder reads the highest pressure gradient.
-- when pulled the plug, coolant came out of the spark plug hole on cylinder 6, also a bit of oil on threads.

coolant coming from PCV valve, going into my air filter.

Here is what compression results look like from my engine

-- (115) -- (115 ) --
--(115) -- (115) --
--(115) -- (120) --

anyone able to help? thank you in advance!

I'm pretty sure if your getting white smoke you're either burning oil or you have a blown head gasket, but I could be wrong.

White smoke means only one thing, coolant is being burned in the combustion chamber. And if coolant runs out of a cyl when the plug is removed, I can't understand how the engine would even turn over, with the plug in, cause water don't compress.

The PCV valve is in the drivers valve cover and has no coolant near it.

Maybe your thinking the breather line off the fill tube is the PCV, then if coolant is flowing out of that line onto the air cleaner. You must have a hole in the head.

Blown head gasket is the most suspect failure leading to coolant in the combustion chambers.

Just to give you some more info. I also have white smoke when starting up after my trucks been sitting. Im burning coolant and know this due to the smell. I have no coolant in oil at this time, I beleve I have a cracked head. My cylinder giving me miss fires is #4. I done a compression check and my numbers were a good bit higher than your. Mine where in the 155 to 170 range. I have a 99 model with 170*** hard miles. My truck don't have near as much power anymore. I have new heads for the truck and plan to rebuild it when time alowes. I also have a lean code which I belive is a leaking intake gasket.

I just wanted to share with you my compression results as your seamed real low to me but all yours were consistant other than your number 6.

Keep us updated on what you find. Sounds to me you may have more than just a bad head gasket. Imo

If you have coolant coming out of the spark plug whole from experience two weeks ago my sprint car motor blew up after a fresh re build and the block was cracked. So you block may be cracked
