Hi,
I own a p.o.s ranger now (2000 4 cyl) but i am upgrading in the next two weeks. I found an 06 FX4 with 70,000 miles on it and it is manual for roughly 9k. it seems like a good deal but i wanted more opinions (it is from a dealer not private seller)

seems like a good deal you should post pics or a link if they have a website so we can make a better decision.

That's a strange looking FX4. It looks like a base XLT mixed with a level II.

Or something. The wheels are from a level II the paintjob is a level II the interior is a XLT. Ive never seen those leather seats on a ranger before, and the grille is a XLT and the bumper is off a XL.

Hm, yeah it looks like a 2001-2004 2wd front bumper. May want to check Carfax for possible accident damage

When I searched for my vin ( I was unsure if I was buying a sport or if it just had the stickers) It verified for me what it was. this doesnt say fx4, so I doubt it is.

thanks. i think I'm going to just upgrade to a f150 but from a dealer with no problems.

I called the dealer. The truck has a rebuilt tilte. Said it had been hit in the front. I asked if the air bags had been deployed...He said no. He buys `em from some other guy who fixes `em. Other guy had painted the black on. I asked if it was really a FX4...Said He believed so. No way it`s worth what he wants with a rebuilt Title. What do you guys think it`s worth?

It doesn't say weather its fx4 or not. Ive entered my vin to fordparts.com and it just says XLT 5speed 4.0lv6 4WD w/ black interior. And i know for a 100% fact my truck is a FX4.

I have no clue, the front is XLT and the interior is XLT but the truck body is level II

I googled the vin. 1FTZR15E76PA22343. You can see pics. of it before it was fixed. Torn up really bad...whole front end. And the air bags were deployed. All I CAN SAY IS....BUYER BEWARE. Investigate...The more you know the better off you are.

Yea i saw the pics, even when it was wrecked the truck still looked mismatched. The ranger emblem should say XLT on it and it doesn't come with the chrome shifter.

I see the trucks that this guy sales all the time on Craig's List.
That's a 2001-2005 2WD chrome bumper and a 2004-2005 lower valence.
He has put these 2WD bumpers on a lot of the trucks he repairs because they's a lot cheaper.
I've always been told that if you can't fix it right don't fix it at all.

Only the FX4 Level II got the chrome shifter and I don't think the XLT was on the emblems of the FX4 Rangers starting in 2006.
