Default Egr insufficient flow

I pull the code to my check engine light on my '94 4.0. its says that I have insufficient egr flow. I have seen the egr open and close when it runs, or at least I think I have. so I thought it might have been the vacuum soleniod switch. after replacing the soleniod switch and reseting the code, I still have the same problem and code.
So whats next?

Your DPFE sensor is bad. It moniters EGR flow and you can find it connected to two hoses running off the EGR tube. Remove it and tap the open holes against your hand and 9 time out of 10 water will come out. Very common fault along the entire Ford product line. replace it and it will be fine.

could be. you can check. and see if the hoses are blocked. anything in the egr tube (carbon buildup) could be restricting flow too. have you opened the valve while the enging is idling? it should stumble and could stall if the large part of the tube isnt plugged. if that is true and your hoses going to the dpfe are in good condition then the next thing to check is continuity between the computer and dpfe. I would be willing to bet their ok unless you have mice problems. I would still think the junkyard sensor is bad. I have seen Ford update the design of that sensor monthly. good luck.
