Default Supercharger or turbo?

Know this has probably been covered but I don't feel like scrolling though all of those pages. I want to supercharge my 04 edge 4.0L or maybe a turbo. Just wondering which is best, what's cheaper, or what kind to get. And also what do they do to your gas milage.

It really just depends on what you want. Supercharger uses power to make power. A turbo charger uses "wasted" power from the exhaust to create power. Advantage of supercharger is you get instant power. Disadvantage is you have to use power from your engine to get that extra power. Advantage of a turbo charger is you don't waste power to get power. Disadvantage is you have a little bit of lag time.

Technology has come a long way with both setups. Like I said at the very beginning, its just a matter of what you want and what you come up with. Do some research on both setups and different products for each and see what you like and what would fit what you want. As much as you don't feel like reading through stuff to get your answers, thats what you are going to have to do. Theres really no right or wrong answer. Its all up to you.

I run an eaton m90 on my truck and as long as you keep your foot out of it there is very little difference in gas mileage.

Not enough to notice... when you're not making boost the eaton has a bypass that dumps the majority of intake air directly into the intake manifold before it gets to the rotors.

All of Jack Roush Fords are SuperCharged, Does that tell you something?!
SuperCharging is easier on the engine and oil...

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Torque it down till it breaks off, then back it off 1/4 turn.

I would go supercharger. Turbos take up a lot of space with the intercoolers and stuff.

So far that's what I'm leaning to. I'm for sure doing my research before I do this. This truck is my daily driver and I drive a lot

If it's your DD and your only vehicle.. IMO I wouldn't do anything more than throw a tuner at it.

And the eaton m90 is a supercharger... that is normally found on a late 80's early 90's Thunderbird.

I currently have 2 supercharged vehicles and 1 turbo car. As far as a supercharger being easier on an engine than a turbo... not sure that I'd buy that argument.

I'm of the opinion that boost is boost and either one can reduce the life span of an engine in a heart beat.
