Default 4 wheel drive problem

I have a 95 ranger the i believe used to auto locking hubs. Its manual locking hubs now and when i use my 4 wheel my truck has no power and it rapes my clutch. I cant even begin to think what the problem is.

Any ideas? Please get back to me

the problem is the gear ratio is too tall for the tires that you have on there...thats why its such a dog when its in 4wd

3.27 with 31's and a lift! holy hell!
no wonder is bogging down in 4wd.
you need at the very least 4.1o's.

There is something else going on especially if it's bogging down to the point it's going to die. Your CV joints might be seized
