Ticks on startup
Ive got a 93, with the 4.0 OHV. On startup it ticks really loudly, then after a couple seconds gets quieter. I can only assume its the tappets/rockers. Ticks loudly untill oil gets in there then quiets a bit?
So, whats the specs for valve clearance on these things?

the older 4.0s love to have a lifter tick when theyre cold

Worn out push rod cups would be my guess. Or sticking lifter.
The engine is hydraulic roller so it has no tappets or nee to adjust the valve clearance.
