Exclamation More power!!! Tbs/cai

i have a 95 ranger splash 4.0 5 speed manual and im looking to put a k&N or a violent cold air intake (CAI) on my ranger cause my custom built CAI doesn't have a water/heat barrier and i want to avoid sucking water into my engine while puddle jumping. my main ? is what brand of CAI do you guys suggest and most importantly will i have anof room to put a throttle body spacer on also and still be able to close the hood???

It's Volant, and I've heard some good things about it....

a throttle body spacer, nor a "cai" will note help your truck have more power. The title of this thread is wrong.

No argument from me there, but I believe the Volant intake draws air from the stock (or close to it) location.

Point taken - but since the heads are the constraint on this pushrod driven design, you will gain nothing.

you will have room for a throttle body spacer but don't waste your money on one, it won't do anything but maybe make a whistle, you also won't have a problem closing your hood, the volant is prob the best designed intake out there, you'll get the most noticable gains from a "cold air intake" if you block it from engine heat as much as possible and find i way to duct fresh air from outside the truck into the engine
