Radiator Sealant?
I was wondering if I should use a particular radiator sealant with my ranger. I have heard good things about Bar's leaks block seal and heard negative stuff about alumaseal. I would like to try this for my very minor drip before I look into plugs.

Re: Radiator Sealant?
Yeah, I will agree on this point, repair or better still replace the radiator.

Re: Radiator Sealant?
Id replace the radiator, ALSO, Some plastic side tank radiators will leak some in the cold weather. A girl I used to date had a mercury sable and for like 5 years it leaked, but by spring, it was not leaking again.
I wont use the leak stops, too cheap of a fix, and that stuff goes into your engine as well, and you want those small spots thru the engine to be open, not closed up. Radiators arent hard to change either. I am sure you can find a write up or video on the net if not thru this site.

Re: Radiator Sealant?
What everyone else said X1000! Radiator stop leaks are bad news for the cooling system, especially the heater core and they rarely stop the leak.

yep. only use stop leak as a last resort and not on a car you plan on keeping. with that being said i had an escort with a leaking head gasget. i put some old time stop leak in and it slowed the leak almost to a stop. but i sold that car several months later.

Re: Radiator Sealant?
Thank you all for your suggestions! I will not use that stuff at all. My radiator is fairly new, so it was probably the cold weather. It was just a few drips that periodically appeared.
