About 2 months ago, i replaced the lower and upper thermostat housing because the lower had split in several place and the upper had a chip in it where the seal sits.I also did the temperature sensors. I should've taken pictures to remember how the gaskets went with the thermostat, but i didn't and now i can't remember. Its leaks a lil, but i keep an eye on it everyday. Can anybody tell me how many gaskets are supposed to be there and how they go on (ie. One above and one underneath, or just one above the t-stat). I've looked at as many "how-to's" as i can and i cant find pictures of how its supposed to go on. Thanks IN advance..!!


BTW: My motor is a SOHC 4.0L

did you take off the upper intake when you did it. i know it last time i replaced the thermostate housing thats what i did and found to be a lot easyier that way. but sorry no i don't know which way the gasket is supposed to be

The intake doesnt need to come off... I replaced the thermostat about a yr ago and it went in fine and didnt leak then. but now, idk why its leaking.. i know its the gasket area.. but i dont understand why..
