I dont know if this is a throttle cable problem or something else, but when my foot is off the gas it will still crawl forward. Even if im on a small hill it will still go forward. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is?

gona assume its an auto, it means you have a torque converter which is what every automatic transmission car or truck has and they also will move

its in drive, which makes it move, no matter what. unless ofc ur braking or there is a huge hill

The reason your truck moves when your foot is not on the brake is a matter (I'm assuming automatic as well. If it's a manual, it's because you are on a hill and with the clutch disengaged, or pushed to the floor you are in neutral) of the torque converter is moving, so the transmission turns moving your truck. Auto transmissions are designed to slip the converter when you are braking, but when you let off, the torque converter can move the fluid, turning your transmission, causing fluid to flow through the torque converter and lock up clutch, this is what moves your main shaft in your transmission. And with nothing to stop the wheels from turning, because you aren't on the brake, the truck will begin to move.

If it's an auto, see above comments. If you have manual, your hydro system has a leak (most likely the slave cylinder) and the clutch disk is slowly re-engaging the flywheel.

All autos lurch forward a bit not just Rangers with autos. if the Auto doesnt lurch forward then your prob have a seized brake.

Actually this will depend on set up. Some autos have enough slip they will hold when you let go and not pull you forward. Others such as the Ranger have enough torque to overcome the friction and will pull you forward. Also over time your parts wear, and then it will stay put as well. Also in really cold weather - ie the 40 below zero I was dealing with in Montana, until the transmission properly warms up and the fluid moves less like syrup, and more like normal, it will not move as well.
