Default Are there any how to threades for replacing rear brake shoes on drum brakes

I used the search function and haven't really come up with anything but disc brake pad replacement. It seems as if they had a how to thread for front brakes they would have one for the back as well. Thanks for any input Jason.

My advise is to do one side at a time. You might not remember how all those springs go back together. That way you'll have the other side as a go- by.

Or he can take a picture of one side to use a reference. Plus if you can learn how to do this you can earn some extra money from friends and family.

I do rear drum brakes rarely. Every time I do a set, I pull both drums and work one side at a time. That way, I have a properly assembled one to refer to.

^^^ My thoughts also. And remember unlike the front you will need to bleed them afterwards...

Unless you've done the drum enough times to know it like the back of your hand, this is the best way to go about it. Reason you'd want to pull BOTH drums first is that often times one side is damaged, and it's the side you would use for reference; only to find out it's trashed once you pull the drum off. Drum brakes are no fun, take your time and the right tools are a big help.

1999 Rager XLT 4banger - I've done everything advised by the youtube vids- I took pics of both sides, I'm doing the shoes one side at a time.. but the left(drivers) side is giving me a fit. I can not for the life of me figure out how the adjusting cable, the lever or the spring are suppose to operate. I have the Haynes but the pictures are every year but this one. Anybody got a decent picture they can post of this on here?
This is how good the pics came out .. next time reminder. ALWAYS check to see how good the pics turned out before proceding with the tear down.

I swear I can't figure out where that cable is going to...
So much for HD cameras.. I like my old Kodak better every time this stuff happens
