hi so anyone that owns a 4.0 knows about the three obnoxious cats ford has installed on 4.0 rangers, i am looking for someone who knows someone who has already done this? or a company selling mid pipes to delete them? i've already tried to search for threads but nothing came up for me. ive considered taking the midpipes (downpipes) off the truck and "punching" them out but id like to do this in a better manner

id appreciate any help/opinions

Guy I work with punched his out went from 18mpg down to around 14mpga cel stays on and it runs rough.
He ended up putting new ones back on costly lesson learned.

thankfully Michigan doesn't, the reason i wanted to was to make it sound better and maybe pull a few hp from it but after reading what everyones said so far i am forsure not going to be doing this. thanks everyone for saving me the trouble

are u trying to straight pipe it

no i wanted to have it catless with eathier a glass pack or the same system i have now which is a flowmaster 10 series with a side exit exhaust, for a while tho i had it just straight piped with the cats and it just sounded like every rusted ranger u see driving

Just put JBA headers on it..then it will sound loud AND U GET HP ITS 22HP IF U HAVE JBA WIRES AND SOME TYPE OF EXHAUST

You can get your truck to run fine if you pull the cats, you just have to have someone retune you computer and do a cat delete. Its your computer that makes the truck run like shit because its trying to copensate for the no cats. If you have the computer reflashed and have them take the code out for the cats it will run fine, and you won't have a CEL on. Im ripping the cats out of mine in a few weeks. but it will run as if you unplugged your O2 sensors if you don't get someone to retune your computer.
