If you couldn't figure out at 108 I saw the deer, the truck was still pulling, I'm just glad that the road I was on was at such an angle the trooper didn't know I was going that fast.

lol. I have upgraded the suspension, brand new tires. I am not worried about a blow out, I have a 2000 Camaro Z28 that I have had over 210 mph. I am just tired of feeling that weird surging when the governor kicks in. I need to reset my pcm anyways cause it is set for Alaska High altitude. So that gives me the excuse so my gf can't be pissed when I drop a few dollars on it.

Sorry should have clarified: I have Rancho RS900XL with coil over capability. They wanted to much for the matching coils at the time.

Tire blow outs suck. I had fun with altitude this year. I spent the summer in Casper, Wyoming at 5280 ft above sea level. Kicked my arse and the Rangers, you can really feel the difference in the truck. I'm sure Alaska's worse. And why does your gf care what you spend your money on? Your pay check, your truck...am I wrong? Unless you are sharing bills in which case make sure you get those paid. Lol Jp I know how the gf things goes, mine just doesn't try anymore, I'm to stubborn..

I can hit 91 in 3rd gear. No need for 4th and 5th. LOL

Blowouts aren't that bad if you don't panic. If you tire goes let off the gas and coast to a stop. Don't turn and don't jab on the brakes. That is what usually causes people to crash. I got a blowout at 110 in my RX7 and nothing happened. I coasted to a stop and changed the tire out.

I think the main thing that can make a blowout so dangerous is that you're not expecting it and it takes you by surprise. Sure, a lot of accidents could probably have been prevented if the driver would stay calm and make the right decisions - but that requires fast thinking. Going fast adds to the danger, but speed and danger go hand in hand anyway.

yes it is not that your tires are old it is the speed rating on them and 210 in your z28 more info pure drag car? the factory cars will not get near 150, 210 is an extremely high number that is almost never met with the high dollar sports cars

I've had a couple mean blow outs, I'm not worried about me in one, it's the people behind me getting hit with debris, f***ing up my wheel, and when I'm home in a more urban setting then here in BFE Montana I can't always find a good safe place to get off the road. The other thing with blow outs I'm worried about is the person in front or beside me having a blow out. I don't know how they will react, and if it's anything like my gf or my sister, some people are going to be feeling mighty pained in a second.

I borrowed a buddies LT-1 Trans Am, 1994 with intake and exhaust, I could hit 145, We don't know if it had internals because it burned to the ground before we could ever get into the engine. Those are awesome cars, I miss the driving that car. And with high dollar sports cars they are not always just for pure speed. They are also built to corner. The US is really the only place that running in a straight line and drag racing is the big thing. Europe they like F1 grand touring style racing, like Lemans where those high dollar cars shine.

Ballistic as for nagging gf and needing money, I'm not a good person to talk about money because I make damn good money, but yeah I wouldn't piss her off. I'd just leave a little aside for your truck every month.

I've hit my speed limiter twice in seven years, both by accident cause I wasn't paying attention. I do not and never will understand why a vehicle not destined for a race track needs the ability to exceed 90mph. There is no reason whatsoever for it because unless you're on a race track, you have absolutely no business going that fast anywhere. For those who do, I hope you learn the hard way and don't take anyone else out with you in the process.
