Default Fuel pump question

So currently in a dilemma... Do I remove the pickup bed or drop the tank to replace the fuel pump. Either way I go I'm going to be replacing hardware on the truck. And if I remove the bed can anybody offer some friendly advice since it's not in my Haynes book on how to do that.

Get a really big torx bit and unbolt it. grab a buddie and lift it off after disconnecting all bolts, grounds, electrical, evap, and fuel connections.

perhaps the hardest part will be undoing the lockring atop the tank.

T55 torx bit, a big ass breaker bar and a ton of wd40 just take the bed off. You'll be glad you did.

yeah pull the bed off and do it that way.... alot easier than trying to muscle a gas tank while laying on your back... just get a friend or 2 to help you lift the bed off and back on...

Use a rust buster like PB Blaster ahead of time on the bolts. WD40 won't dissolve rust. It will help transport a wad of rust into the nuts and really seize. You may need to heat the nuts with a O/A torch or torch the heads off. At least it is a part of the project you can start ahead of time.
