Loud Humming from Intake Hose
has anyone had this. I was idling in the driveway and i hear a loud humming under the hood. I open the hood and the noise is coming from the intake box/hose. Almost like a vacumm cleaner that is clogged up? Very loud though, not normal. everything is in place and the filter is new. any ideas?

Stock or aftermarket intake
Did u install a K&N filter

everything bone stock. Paper filter. I even unbuckled the air box and it still did the same thing post filter. Its almost like a humming, whining noise and for shure coming from there, i can even feel it when touching the intake snorkel.

Edit: IAC valve. Change it.

OK I can do that. What makes it sound like that though? Truck runs great, no idle problems whatsoever.

Im having the same problem i have a 1997 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 and the intake is howling at a low idle or at low speeds and i have an aftermarket cold air on it but when i put my hand over the end it changes the pitch so it is deff where is coming for i was reading change the IAC problem is i already have it is brand new or could it be faulty any way to check? or any other possible reasons?

Its the IAC as mentioned before. Ive had it "whine" on 2 diff trucks
