Default Switching from EGR engine to no EGR engine

I cracked the cylinder walls in my engine, the one with EGR and ordered an engine from a junk yard that was supposed to have the EGR on the intake. Well, the idiots sent me the wrong engine and I didn't realize it till i got home. Now instead of waiting 2 weeks for a new engine I started swapping parts.

So my question is, do I need to switch upper intakes or can I get away with not hooking up the EGR connections ( both vacuum can electronic) and capping the exhaust end of the EGR valve?

It wont pass emissions inspection if you have it in the state.

You could get away without switching it, but I wouldnt...if you have the parts, why not swap them?

I just did this exact same thing....The easiest way is to use the Egr motor's Driver side header and the upper intake. If you use the non-egr setup it'll probably throw codes for it and turn on the check engine light constantly.

I have a 2001 4.0 v6 and live in the great state of Florida, where we dont have any sort of emissions inspections or regulations. So ignoring legality, what would be the practicality of removing the EGR from my engine entirely? If there is any benefit of doing so, what all would the job include?

If u have no emissions then just block off all ports and u are set. U will have to reprogram the computer if u don't want the check engine light on. Why mix exhaust gas with fresh air with if u don't have to. I wish I could get rid of mine... damn u PA

Hook up the EGR. If you want to get rid of the EGR, then switch to a non-EGR computer. The computer is programmed to open the EGR and compensate for EGR flow. Do it right, you will not regret it.
