-my truck has been making a whine for almost a week now. it starts about five minutes after running. i first noticed it from inside the cab i first thought it was an issue with the tape deck (yes i still have a tape deck . after further investigation i would have bet it was coming from the ac compressor.
-ordered a ac bypass pulley from napa and installed it today to no avail.
i can still hear the whine from inside the cab but not so well from the engine compartment the rest of the engine noise is to loud.
-now normally i would be worried if my ford wasnt making strange noises and this one would not be any different except it seems to be drawing amps from the battery. (voltage guage goes down when whine starts and jumps up when i hit the throttle.) it has never drained the battery, not yet atlest.
-any help gentlemen? and ladies of course?

Alternator is going away.
Take it to a store where it can be tested.
