1999 Ranger Fuel Filler Flareside 4.0l Super Cab

Hello everybody. The guys in Ford Truck Enthusiasts referred me here for my ranger, I have a 1999 Ford Ranger that was vandalized after I left for Iraq in september of 2010 and I need to replace the fuel filler pipe because if I try to put gas in it, after maybe a 1/10th of a second it clicks the pump off and you can see a bunch of bubbles at the top of the pipe. Do you think the shi*head kids put something other than syrup in the pipe?

It could be the vent hose. May have been clogged, but in my work I have seen some Aholes fill the filler pipe with expanding insulation foam. If you have to replace the filler neck, ebay it. I have seen brand new ones go for around 50.00 shipped

Are they specific for the flareside vs the styleside?

Yeah make sure it is for stepside or the technical name flareside

God nobody carries them. This is starting to really make me angry. They are like 400 bucks at the once place i found them. I bout fell over dead when i heard that.

go on ebay, contact a seller that carries the ones for standard bed sizes, they have them

I've swapped beds from a fleetside to a flareside on a buddies fx4 and we didnt need a different filler neck, so you might be able to use the fleetside neck with a little finesse.

Could always get one for the styleside and just cut down the filler end to fit if it's long.

Have you checked LMctruck.com or even rockauto.com

Search car-part.com to search salvage yards in your area.

Yes I did search LMC & Rock Auto, neither one had it. I shop there often because of my 84 F-250 6.9 Diesel.
