Default 4.0L SOHC swap for OHV?

due to the fact that it is becoming d*mn near impossible to find a supercharger for the OHV 4.0L, i was wondering if ya'll could tell me the pitfalls of the SOHC 4.0L? cause i haven't heard very good things of it, but i can get a supercharger for it and well does anyone know how tough it'd be to put one in replacement of 93 4.0L OHV from say a 01 or 02 SOHC 4.0L?

waiting for: dual steering stabilizer, put on 3" body lift(in my room), dual shock setup, electric fan, possible SAS with a waggy D44

If you get an SOHC, make sure it is an 04+ to avoid the timing chain problems. Other than that, they're a good solid engine.

ok, what'd they change in the 04+ rangers? i'm thinking i'd need to basically get a donor truck and take the tranny with the motor too, wiring harness, just the works?

hahaha only problem with that supercharger is it is "electric"... i don't want an electric one, i want a legit belt driven supercharger!

I would not even bother with the SOHC 4.0. Its trash in my opinion. If you want more power to go fast sell what you have and get fast car. f you need to tow more sell what you ahve and buy a full size.

thanks for your opinion, but i like my ranger, and i don't want a car cause of my job, and i don't need a full-size.
