Just getting everything together to install an electric fan on my 02 Ranger, and have most of the parts to put one on my 86 B II when I get it running.
From what every source says, it is one of the best things you can do to gain a little HP and mileage, plus it takes some of the strain off the water pump.
I guess the worst thing I have heard about an electric fan is they are noisier than the stock fans.
I think there are a lot of folks on this forum that have them, on other forums they seem to be all the rage.

Rather than start a new reply,I'll update this one.
Worked on the wiring for the Taurus fan, hooked it all up on the floor, it works. Got a wiring diagram drawn up, will post it if any one is interested.
I discovered something this morning while putting power to the fans, (2 different ones, not a double, although that might be an easier install.) The fan I got out of a 95 or 96 Taurus is 16 inches, the fan that came out of the 98 Sable is 17 1/2 inches, both had 3.8's. also the fan from the Sable is set at an angle, about 1 1/2 inches from end to end, the Taurus fan looks to be pretty much parallel all the way across.
I will start pulling the wiring in the truck later this week, what I have set up, (this is only because some one on a forum don't remember where, ask the question), when the A/C starts, are both high and low running at the same time? With this setup, high speed cuts in and low speed is dropped out, if the A/C is off, it runs on low speed. I will have a switch on the compressor side of the splice for the A/C Request line to shut the A/C down if I need to run the high speed for slow crawling conditions or what ever.
