Default Can she do it? almost 4000Lbs

She's a 91 4.0 OHV 4x4. What is the max towing capacity on her?

I've done a few google searches but I'm only comin' up with info for newer models.
The trailer she's gunna be pulling probably weighs close to 1000 pounds and the car that's going on it weighs 2500-2800 pounds. From bend oregon to boise idaho.
Thank you

Yeah. She's a five speed. I was mostly worried about the transmission side of things too.
As long as I've had it I've taken pretty good care of everything. ha

That's a good point.. I didn't consider that. lol

It has brakes. They just aren't wired in yet.

I would advise NOT using that truck to go that distance. You'd be a lot better off renting a full size truck if you absolutely had nobody with one that would be willing to do that trip. That's a very long trip for an old V6 to be pulling 4000 pounds. The older OHV's had a towing capacity of up to 5500 pounds, FYI, but that is MAX. At 4000 pounds, a 320 mile one way trip is going to be hard on it.

BTW, do you have a hitch, or just your bumper? If a hitch, what class?

I believe it's a class III but not positive.

My uncle said he would be able to pick the car up next thursday and get it to Vale.

But then he's got to meet a guy in Jamieson otherwise he'd just bring it all the way here.

all i got is dam. i towed a 23ft enclosed and up hills was terrible i had to have the 4 ways on and was stuck in second until i crested the hill. the trailer was loaded but like stated it is more beneficial to rent a full size instead of pushing the truck to the limit

Gotcha. Alrighty. I might just see about renting a full size or maybe call up a couple good friends. Haha. I don't want to hurt my baby. Ain't even had her a year. Ha.
Thanks everybody for the help and advice
