Default TPS Sensor 2004 4.0

After reading a few threads i went out and started it up and went up to around 2500 rpms and stayed for a second and idled down to where it almost stalled out, and then when i hit the gas it would not rev over 3000 Rpms, Does this sound like the tps sensor?

Thanks
Rodknock

When you revved it and it would not go over 3K was it in park? If so it is because the rev limiter.

Yes it was in park, When i tried to run it down the road i could not go over 40 mph, when i gave it gas it acted like it was going to stall out, back off on the gas and run steady around 40 mph? No power, Rough idle,Black out of exhaust, idle was up and down.

Could not floor it, would lose power soon as i tried to floor it. I know it used a lot of gas getting it home, i was seven miles from home.
