Default 2003 4.0L plugged cat

Ok so my cat is clogged and I have read that there are no power gains with exhaust cai. I will obviously see se gains because of the cat but with a snorkel, jba headers and a custom exhaust I won't see any gains even with a tune? Has anyone dynoed there has to be some sort of gains?

Are there any intake manifolds for the 4.0?

you will see some gains in hp and fuel economy. On the Ranger, the gains aren't much but with a new cat, and a tune alone you could see maybe 10hp and a couple extre MPGs

Haha true but a little bit of power and tourque won't hurt in te mud either

----------

Well if it's really not worth it I will change the cat and call it a day, but my safari snorkel is on the way so hopefully I will see some improvement at least in fuel economy

Interesting, how did you determine you have a plugged cat? The ONLY time i have ever seen a cat get plugged with anything it was engine oil due to excessive consumption.

CEL came on, but there is no consumption so im not sure, ive heard that if there are excessive amounts of unburnt fuel that could happen as well but it seems to be running fine so we will start there and see what happens

Saw a Youtube video on measuring back pressure to check for clogged converter. Just search test catalytic converter on youtube.
