Need help...fan clutch nut!

I have tried to get the fan clutch nut loose on this thing all day. The Haynes manual says to turn it clockwise (left handed threads) but I have read elsewhere that the threads on the 4.0 motor are standard. I have been beating on it in both directions to no avail, but it would really help to know which way to turn the nut. This thing is frozed! Thanks-Paul

The 4.0 fan clutch has standard threads

Thank you. Once I knew which way to turn it I gave it a maximum effort and it broke free. All hail the internet.

haha, I had the same problem. Theres even "LH Thread" etched on the fan shielding. I yelled some choice words to the Ford engineers. But that happens frequently.

When I was putting the fan shroud back on and saw those words, I was crushed. Unbelievable.
