Default Spark plugs.

Hi everyone,I'm new to this forum & have a Ranger that I think is great. However this is the first vehicle I've had that i can't normally get to the right bank of plugs. I wanted ti install a set of E3 plugs. Any ideas on getting to the plugs on the right ? The truck is a 4.0,4wd, a.c. Has any one else used e3 plugs & if so with what results?

Welcome to the forum! I moved this to the 4.0 tech section.

Just use motorcraft. its what the truck was made with. Motorcraft Platinum SP-498 plugs or Motorcraft Double Platinums (DK part number). see below:

I'm running E3's on my 2000 OHV. I previously used Autolite double plats and both plugs perform very well.

Regarding removing the plugs from the pax side, try attacking them from the side working through the wheel well (with the wheel removed). You'll also need a long extension and a universal between the socket and the extension. If that doesn't work, try accessing them from under the engine. I remember having to do this with one plug on my 2.9L years ago.

E3 plugs are a waste.
Stick with motorcraft or autolite

Autolite or Motorcraft brand plugs only. All others will fail.

Yea, just did mine last week. The only way I could do the passenger side easily was to go through the wheel well. There is an inner mud flap that snaps off, and an extension and u-joint got me in with little problem.
