Default a/c leak??

So my a/c wasn't working. I took it into the shop and they did the vacuum and recharge deal. About 2 days later it was only blowing air at room temperature. I took it into another shop and they said it was 2 lbs low on freon. They recharged it and now my compressor is cycling on and off pretty frequently, about every 7 seconds. What could be the problem now?? Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah sounds like you have a freon leak, why didnt the a/c shop that you took it to check it for leaks?

Well I know they did put the dye in first but the receiver blew off the line that goes into it cause it was bent where it connected. So I guess they thought that was the problem. Long story short I'm not going back to that mechanic. Sooooo now where i'm stuck is figuring out where the leak is. Am I looking at an expensive fix once they find the leak? What are the possibilities? Sorry guys i'm a newbie not a mechanic.

well if they put a dye in it then that will come out where the leak is, but if its a really small leak they have a freon detector that they use, the price depends on what all they have to do, if its just one small leak and they can replace that part of the line it wont be that expensive, and it also depends on how long it takes them to find the leak and if they have to recharge it again etc etc...
