Dip Stick tube

Hi , anyone know where i can get a dip stick tube for a 97 ranger 4.0 . I'm told that it has to be from a , 97 -2000 will fit ( the tube is suppose to be bigger in these years ). They are NO LONGER available from the dealers ; and mine has rusted off . I cant find any listing on the net for aftermarket ones ( if they make any ) . If anyone has any info , I would appreciate the info .

mine is broke about a third of the way down so i need one too but my question is how do you replace them?

As far as I know of pull the old one out and push the new one in. There may be a bolt holding it on the exhaust manifold.

so you can just pull the tube out?...thats wierd

You should be able to if I'm not wrong. It's almost like they set it up like a compression fitting it's a really tight fit with a o ring at the base where it meets the motor to stop leaks.

Mines busted too, anyone know if a 5.0 out of an expo will work?

Hello...junk yard here tells me that only the 4.0 in years 97-2000 will work ;and also that one out of an explorer same years engine size WON"T work ...there's a difference form OHV to the OHC ?????????????
